Mathematics
This class provides trainees with the mathematics skills needed for
employment in their choen occupations. Trainees progress through various
levels in this class until ready to progress to GED, high school or
vocational courses.
The class covers addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of
whole numbers, decimals and fractions. Trainees learn percent and
proportion, linear, square and volume measurement, pre-algebra and simple
plane geometry. Also taught is consumer mathematics and work place
mathematics.
Trainees are assigned to this class if their mathematics component
level on the TABE test at enrollment in Job Corps is below 536.
