Diversity Training/Intergroup Relations
This training includes classroom and other activities that increase
understanding among various ethnic, racial, and religious groups, genders,
and trainees with disabilities. This is to prepare all Job Corps trainees
to live and work in a diverse society.
New trainees are introduced to diversity in their orientation phase.
The Center also has a cultural awareness program called Intergroup
Relations (IGR). Each month is designated to introduce trainees to various
cultures and a variety of class and other activities may be planned. These
may include cultural presentations, displays, writing contests, cultural
food served in the cafeteria, and more.
